Laser Scanning Drum Room Lounge at The President Hotel
After completing the structural engineering for its 2012 interior renovation, we returned to the Drum Room Lounge and scanned its exterior, as well as the entire exterior of The Hotel President, which houses the Drum Room.
Opened in 1941, the Drum Room has hosted famous musicians such as Frank Sinatra, Patsy Cline and Glenn Miller. The hotel which houses the Drum Room was built in 1926. It hosted the 1928 Republican National Convention where Herbert Hoover was nominated for President. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. In 2005, the hotel underwent a $45.5 million restoration. The Drum Room was renovated in 2012. Structural Modeling & Analysis provided structural engineering services for the renovation.
