Now complete, the two-level enclosed bridge spans 39th Street, connecting the existing KU Hospital Tower with an adjacent 13-story tower expansion. Prior to installation, the laser scanning team at Structural Modeling & Analysis scanned the future site of the bridge.

Data obtained from laser scanning was critical to timely completion of the bridge, as erection of this scope required closures of 39th Street below. Laser scanning before installation allowed construction contractors to discover and address discrepancies before they became a project-stalling issue during installation.
